Who Are We?Polish Language Services is a Polish only language training company which offers three distinct immersion-style training services designed specifically for clients who need to achieve Polish Language proficiency in a limited time. Our programs involve one-on-one conversation based sessions which, combined with real-world materials, allow us to achieve maximum proficiency results in minimum time. These programs are ideally suited for professionals with target proficiency goals and full-time training availability. The training is specifically designed to achieve the goals typical of U.S. government officials and military personnel. The programs are also appropriate for corporate, academic and other clients who seek maximum proficiency in minimum time. Our school offers intensive in-class instructions accompanied with optional U.S. “Mini Immersion” and In Country (Poland) “Full Immersion” trainings as detailed later. Each training package is custom tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of the individual student. How Are We Different? Our school focuses exclusively on the Polish language allowing us to develop a specific immersion-style strategy for teaching this complex language. Our instructors are native Polish speakers with graduate degrees and experience in teaching polish as a foreign language in a professional environment. They are highly motivated and happy to share part of themselves with our clients. Their deep interest, strong ties and frequent travel to Poland enables them to keep up-to-date with current trends. Besides teaching the language, our program incorporates adaptation training that examines lifestyle differences for easing the transition to living and working in Poland. We also introduce the beautiful world of Polish culture, tradition and customs to our students so they can fully appreciate their future stay in Poland. For the students who are intestested, we discuss Polish history and art, contemporary Polish society, economics and politics. Our classrooms are designed to simulate the Polish environment and give the student a feel of Poland. Everything in the classroom environment is Polish (entrance/exit signs, maps, pictures, calendars, etc.). We have a large library of Polish books, games, audio and video materials which helps to add variety to our teaching. Training MethodologyPolish Language Services delivers full-time, one-on-one Polish instruction with a minimum of English allowed only during the breaks. From the moment the student enters the classroom, they are spoken to ONLY in Polish. Our emphasis lies in our student’s ability to begin speaking Polish as quickly as possible, therefore the student’s class involvement is 50-70% from the very first day! Our students learn Polish by using it during the class. They are not required to memorize the very difficuilt Polish grammar rules, rather, they learn it by examples. Our goal is to make our students think in Polish because this is the milestone in achiving language proficiency. Training sessions are strategically developed to iteratively build the student’s vocabulary by exposing them to increasingly more complex conversational building blocks. Using the method we have developed, the student will slowly build conversational skills with each passing week just as an infant does when learning to speak for the first time. Putting it all Together – The full immersionFurther distinguishing us from our competition, we are able to compliment our classroom training with unique “Mini-Immersion” and “In-Poland Immersion” modules, tailoring each to maximize the benefit to the student. Intensive classroom training is supplemented by up-to-date training materials including first-release Polish movies on DVD, satellite television programming (including sitcoms, game shows, soap operas of indigenous production as well as U.S. productions dubbed and/or subtitled in Polish), daily news broadcasts (less than 24 hours old when viewed by the student) and field trips – all designed to iteratively increase exposure to Polish language and culture. |
